Apple: Think Secret dévoile encore...
Le site Think Secret fait à nouveau parler de lui. Et d'Apple...
On se souvient que des démêlés judiciaires, encore en suspens au moment où nous parlons, opposent le fabriquant d'ordinateurs californien au site Internet qui s'est spécialisé dans les 'rumeurs' le concernant.
Ce qu'Apple semble surtout reprocher à Think Secret, c'est d'être trop bien informé. Et de le faire savoir.
Le site ne baisse pas pavillon pour autant, puisqu'il en remet une couche à propos des prochains remaniements que devrait (notez le conditionnel) prochainement subir la gamme de la marque à la pomme.
Au programme des indiscrétions de la semaine, de nouvelles versions du processeur Power G5, de l'iMac et de l'eMac. Voyons cela en détail.
Le Power G5 (nom de code: Q87) gagnerait en vitesse d'horloge (trois versions de 2GHz, 2,3GHz et 2,7GHz), touchant au passage une mémoire SDRAM doublée par rapport à celle qui lui est attribué sur catalogue (1), et une carte graphique améliorée. Tous les modèles recevraient désormais le lecteur/enregistreur de DVD SuperDrive compatible avec les derniers support double-couche.
Un point intéressant à ce stade: sur le site de Think Secret, on note la mention 'per processor' (par processeur) en face de la ligne 'mémoire cache L2'; ce qui laisse penser qu'il y a du 'dual-core' dans l'air: il se murmure en effet que les nouvelles double-puces IMB PowerPC 970MP seraient incessamment implantées sous le capot des ordinateurs Apple, parallèlement au processeur simple-core PowerPC 970GX actuel.
Autre question cruciale: Apple va-t-il résister à la tentation de ne plus proposer de véritable version d'accés? En juin 2004, la sortie de la nouvelle gamme G5 s'était accompagnée d'un nivellement par le haut. Une version 1,8GHz avait pourtant été réintroduite en octobre de la même année, indiquant qu'une réelle demande existait pour un modèle meilleur marché du iMac.
La future version accueillera le nouveau MacOSX Tiger en natif, débutera donc à 2GHz, verra sa mémoire vidéo doubler à 128MB, et adoptera une carte vidéo ATI Radeon 9600. Standard sur tous les modèles: Bluetooth 2.0 et iLife '05.
Les écrans seront des 17 pouces au minimum, culminant à 20 pouces pour les versions haut de gamme.
Les disques durs iront de 160GB à 250GB (Serial ATA), et la mémoire d'origine offrira déjà 512MB.
Les eMacs garderaient leur processeur G4, porté à 1,42GHz, mais gagneraient une ATI Radeon 9600 à 64MB en lieu et place de la 9200 de 32MB.
